Sleep never sounded so good, to be honest. Or this easy to catch. Usually, Bishop was up almost all night unable to fall asleep or too busy to bother. But with the others body against his, the sound of his breathing…

…sleep feels attainable.

He doesn’t mean to fall asleep when he does but with his arms wrapped securely around Sawyer, nose buried lightly into his hair, his breaths even out and sleep takes him.

Sawyer takes longer to fall asleep but he had slept in and then taken a nap too. Their activities and everything else that had happened that day still leaves him exhausted but his thoughts keep him awake. He finally falls into a light sleep, a bit fitful.

He's not sure how long it is before he starts awake to the other's arm still around him and his warmth close. His heart is racing, a moment of panic but it fades slowly as he reminds himself where he is, who he is with. Carefully he crawls out of bed and goes to the bathroom, before moving quietly as he can through the bedroom and down the stairs.

It's early and he starts by cleaning the dishes and then finding what he needs to make rice, some eggs and a few other things for breakfast.

Despite his sleep, he’s still hyper aware of Sawyer. Even when he wakes and heads downstairs. Bishop woke up almost immediately but he chose to remain where he was for now, giving the other time to…comfortably start the day without having him hovering over his shoulder or adding any extra pressure.

The house was safe. That’s all that mattered.

Soon enough he slides out of bed and takes his time before padding down the stairs to join Sawyer in the kitchen, “morning.”

Sawyer is hard at work making the breakfast, some fresh vegetables added in with the rice and the eggs wouldn't take much longer to be ready. He had bowls set out ready to serve out the food.

He jumps a little at the other's greeting, not quite expecting it. He turns, offering a small smile.

"Good morning."

Everything inside of him softens at the sight of that smile. This, he could get used to. A rumble, pleased and low, starts in his throat as he wanders over to see what he was cooking up.

“Sleep good?”

Sawyer shivers at the rumble. They seem to have a constant effect on him every time he hears or feels one. He shrugs at the question and he starts serving the rice and vegetables into the bowls -- the eggs almost ready to be put on top.

"I slept..." he trails off. He hadn't slept well but he had slept and that was something.

“It’s new, I know,” Bishop responds, voice still a little rough from sleep as he moves to get some water.

Leaning against the counter, he drinks the water and watches Sawyer finish up breakfast and a little smile turns his mouth. It was cute.

“You wanna go do something today?”

Sawyer works quietly on finishing up the breakfast and then moves to take the bowls to the table. Though, he immediately returns to start cleaning up the rest of the mess from cooking.

"Like what?"

Bishop catches him by the waist and steers him back towards the table, “you can clean after you eat with me,” he says and sinks down into his own seat.

“Thank you for breakfast,” he adds with a genuine smile and then just shrugs, “something you want to do but couldn’t, or you can come with me to the bar? You can meet some of my people.”

Sawyer yelps in surprise when the other grabs his waist and he bites his lip as he's brought to the table. He continues chewing on his lip a bit as he sits down, itching to clean up the rest of the mess he'd made but he stays in his seat, fidgeting a bit.

"Mm," he smiles a little at being thanked. It's a strange thing... and the other's smile makes his heart skip a beat.

"I'll go to the bar with you," Sawyer says and there's a tinge of hesitancy but he's trying to trust Bishop. He'll have to meet the others at some point anyway.

Bishop brightens a little because he wasn’t sure if Sawyer would even want to leave the house yet, to be honest. But the fact that he was willing to try…

“Okay. Yeah. That’ll be good. I’ve gotta grab some stuff from the office and just check out some things but you can stay with me,” he shrugs lightly, “until you get bored at least.”

Sawyer nods a little and he waits for Bishop to start eating before he starts as well. The idea of leaving the house makes him nervous but he'll be with Bishop so it should be okay. And at least he'll see what the other does and maybe he'll come up with more ways to be helpful and useful.

A few minutes into eating, Bishop looks over, “I might let you cook from now on…I think you’re better.”

There's a slight tug at Sawyer's lip at the comment and he looks up, eyes widened a bit.

"Really?" he asks, pleased that the other likes it. He'd taught himself how to cook and he'd had to learn to do it well.

“Mhm,” nodding, he reaches for his water and takes a small sip before going back to his food. Over another bite he considers something and looks over, “….if you cook it, I’ll clean it. Okay?”

Sawyer blinks.

"I don't mind cleaning..." he doesn't mind cooking either. "You have other things to do."

“I just mean the kitchen,” he chuckles softly, “if you cook for us, I’ll take care of clean up. Fair is fair.”

[bilocations]

"If that's what you really want."

“Well, yeah, you’re my mate. Not my maid,” Bishop scoffs gently and leans his cheek into his palm, watching Sawyer just the few short feet away, “We’re partners. Equals.”

Sawyer looks hesitant. That's not the dynamic that he's used to seeing, experiencing. He looks down at his food, eating a few more bites.

"I just don't know how..." he lifts a shoulder.

“You’ll figure it out. You’re smart…” Bishop murmurs and sits back in his chair, watching Sawyer thoughtfully. Still with that sort of almost dreamy admiration.

He gets it, though.

“I know you don’t know any better because of…everything you’ve lived through, but it was never meant to be that way.” He pauses and licks his lips, “Everyone is obsessed with Alpha this abs Alpha that. They’re strong, blah blah. But without….” He nods to Sawyer, “all they are are ego trips and strength.”

[bilocations]

Sawyer pushes a little at the leftover rice in his bowl, peering at the other shyly. He wonders if how Bishop is is more normal than what he'd been accustomed to. He doesn't ask. He just looks at him a little longer before finishing his food. He couldn't imagine letting even one grain of rice go to waste.

"It's a lot."

A little amused, he nods, “I’m basically saying you’re actually the boss of me.”

Sawyer shakes his head quickly at that, eyes wide.

"What? No."

“Mhm,” Bishop nods.
